Dear Jews for Life,
Hello from a longtime prolife feminist activist and co-editor of the book ProLife Feminism Yesterday and Today (Second Expanded Edition,
http://www.xlibris.com/prolifefeminism).
I thought you all might want to know about a new, US-based but globally oriented website that I am excited to work with, the Nonviolent Choice Directory. A direct outgrowth of the book, it offers practical help to people in crisis as well as encouraging everyone to do their part to eliminate abortion at its roots. Our purpose is explained more fully below.
We welcome your feedback and your participation. Please do feel free to pass the word along as widely as you can to anyone, prolife or prochoice, who is serious about reducing abortion and ensuring that all women and children have the genuine choices and flourishing lives they deserve.
Thank you & all best, Mary Krane Derr
Nonviolent Choice Directory http://www.nonviolentchoice.info
Into one convenient, low bandwidth website, we bring together resources from around the world to help with:
--Healing after abortion.
--Male responsibility.
--Sexual and reproductive health education (all aspects, not only abstinence).
--Pregnancy prevention through the method(s) of one's own choosing, including but not limited to abstinence and fertility awareness/natural family planning. We believe so strongly in prevention that we offer family planning and safer sex items through this website.
--Life-affirming support for both the women and children of crisis pregnancy--before, during, and after birth. We cover such vital areas as crisis pregnancy support services; mother & child health; parenting & childrearing; adoption, foster care, & guardianship; food & nutrition; clothing; shelter; finances & income; education; employment & career; and relationships.
--Ways that anyone and everyone can personally join in the struggle to reduce abortion & create better lives and choices for all. In addition to listing resources on the above topics, we regularly post doable, practical action alerts in our Blog and offer pages on eco-friendly living and on ways to give life other than (or in addition) being a biological and/or social parent oneself.
We offer this Directory in the hope and (interfaith, nonsectarian, secular) belief that:
--All lives matter, born and unborn.
--Women have the human right to make their own nonviolent (voluntary, fully informed, nonabortion, abortion-reducing) sexual and reproductivechoices.
--There is a shared human responsibility, at every level of society, from the individual to the global, to ensure that women can freely exercise this right, and that women and children, born and unborn, can live their lives in safety, dignity, and respect.
